SSD Problem in VMWARE ESXi

Hi all,
Wondering if you could provide some insight.

I have 8x 240GB Intel Pro 2500 SSD's on a LSI 9750 in RAID 6.

If the drive type is showing Non-SSD in vSphere client, will that affect the performance of the SSD RAID array? Or is this just a cosmetic factor? I can fix this in CLI, but not sure if it's really necessary or not.


Full ESXi host spec:
2x Xeon E5-2630's
64GB ECC Kinsgston RAM
LSI 9750 8i
8x Intel Pro 2500 240GB SSD's
Supermicro Chassis
ESXi is currently running 9 VM's

Someone was running SSDs in RAID, and it was showing as "Non-SSD" evidently it is just a cosmetic thing. The performance will be unchanged.

Here are a couple links to topics I found on the subject. Doesn't look like it's an issue unless you're wanting to use the array for caching purposes.

SSD status is used by ESXi only to determine if disks / datastore can be used for caching or VSAN.
