Anything i need to know about adding an SSD drive to winxp with sp3? Dont say why not use win7 or 8 pls :)

Greetings

As far as I can tell it should be no problem because since your using SP3 then the default drivers in XP should pick it up without any trouble. About the only thing I would do is change the IDE mode to AHCI in the Bios, other than that with XP and 4K sectored drives you would use DISKPART to set the starting sector on a 4K boundary as I believe XP starts the partition at Sector 63, I not sure if this applies to SSD's as we haven't seen any of those > 2TB in size but it probably wouldn't hurt if you get into the habit of doing so with any potential 4K drive especially where XP is involved, OS's from Vista onwards allign at 4K boundaries automatically.

Thats about all I can think of.

Cheers
