I recently got a 64gb gskill ssd (FM-25S2S) and dropped it on my ICH10R controller which is in AHCI mode because i have some other hard disks on that controller also I want to get the most performance out of... while I haven't noticed any issues with running the ssd in AHCI mode I read it could be problematic because the controller on the ssd isn't designed to handle getting throttled with lots of tasks at once... how many of you are running your ssd's in AHCI mode and have you had to switch to IDE or are you not having any issues?

I was thinking about trying the ssd on my other controller (jmicron) which hosts my DVD drives, but I think that would be worse than the intel with AHCI mode on.. thoughts?

FYI, my OS is not on this ssd... it's purely a device for storing games..
