I am new to SSD drives but have read a little about synchronous vs asynchronous but beyond that, I don't know much.

Could you guys help me compare to drives and let me know how big of a difference there would be in speed and reliability:

I'm not really looking for what's leading the pack though. I'm looking for a good drive for under $150.

Even it's not the best or fastest, just fast and reliable.

Most users will still benefit from the extra speed of SSD drives even the ones that aren't the latest and greatest.
