SSD Heat differences?

I'm using HWMonitor and Hmonitor to take a look at the difference heat of my drives.

Here they are from hottest to least hottest.

WDC WD150FAEX-007BA0 (1TB HDD)
36C (96F)
MKNSSDCR120GB (120GB SDD)
33C (91F)
OCZ-VERTEX2 (60GB SSD)
1C (33F)

Is this some kind of misread? I'm not sure if its possible for a piece of hardware to sit at 0-1C when the ambient room temp is at 75F.

Any answers to this?
 
Most likely either a bad thermistor in the drive or it posts info differently than your util is set to read it.
 
There was a firmware bug for the Vertex 2 that caused that.

They fixed it in an update.

MKNSSDCR is closer to being accurate. Although I would not be that worried about reading the temperature on an SSD. Just keep the case reasonably cool and you are fine. With that said at work I do use my hard drives as a warning of the server room temperature. I temperature monitor 75+ drives and if they go above a certain limit I get notified of that. This has served me well to monitor the AC (which is not 100% reliable) in the server room and it was free..
 
My OCZ Vertex 2 has never budged from 30C...not really too worried about it as the hard drive next to it runs cool.
 
The temp fix for the SF 1200s just set the temp to 30c all the time I think, just to prevent problems from tremp being out of range. But the first gen SandForces don't use much power, meaning it can't and wont get that hot. The Chronos Deluxe's temp sensor is somewhat accurate, but the 32nm Toshiba Toggle NAND uses a good bit of power.
 
My Vertex 2 used to read 1c all the time, but after a firmware update it now reads a solid 30c. As long as you're not using it in an oven, you shouldn't worry about it's temps.
