Hello everybody,
I am looking to replace my primary SSD drive (Intel X25-M G2 80GB) and get a new one with higher capacity. I haven't looked recently in the SSD market so I don't know all the available options.
First of all my Desktop System is an Intel i5 750 with P55 chipset, so it only supports SATA2. But I want to keep my new SSD for some time even if I upgrade to a new platform (let's say in 1.5-2 years), so SATA3 and good performance drive is welcome.
The performance I am looking for is quick windows and application launch, compiling code with Visual Studio and other IDE, using Unity and UDK, restoring and saving Chrome/Firefox tab sessions, use content creation tools like Gimp, Photoshop, Blender so a quick SSD for work and multitasking. I usually run my games from my HDD, so I use my SSD for the operating system and tools.
I think a 120 GB SSD has a small capacity difference, so I am looking for a 180GB+ Drive to hold the operating system, user data, applications, tools and all the content that I create. I don't want to spent more than 180-200 Euros.
I made a small research and I found:
1) Intel 330 180GB about 153 Euros (I don't think is worth it in that price point)
2) Intel 335 240GB about 175 Euros
3) Samsung 840 250GB about 180 Euros (It has small sequential writes)
4) Kingston 240GB HyperX 3K about 185 Euros
5) Corsair Force Series GT 240 GB about 216 Euros
I thinking about Intel 335 240GB for that price point. Is it good and reliable SSD for my system? Do you have other recommendations to make?
Thanks in advance.
