I have a feeling my SSD died of overheating from laptop.

Anyway to recover?

Tried it on other machines, no luck. :(

Why are you zeroing in on heat as the culprit? Did you see smart temp increases? What brand and model drive do you have an what firmware level?
 
OCZ 120GB SATA II, vertex plus.

No smart temp, but when my daughter said her laptop broke, I went to her room and saw the laptop on the bed :( and it was hot as hell.
