SSD constant stutters!

i had a intel x25m 80gb and wanted to upgrade, so i imaged my drive with acronis. then i loaded that image on to a vertex 256gb, then extended the main partition (80gb) to the whole usable space (238gb). what i thought to be an upgrade turned out to be a downgrade. now i'm getting constant stuttering issues and the drive would momentarily freeze for about a second. this is doing every day things like web browsing, gaming, or alt+tab to switch applications. it's extremely annoying, i thought it was my video card at first but it looks like the problem is from this SSD. when i had the intel x25m, there wasn't any of these issues until after i imaged it. i did a few benchmarks, please tell me if these look normal. the sequential read from HDtune looks especially off, and i think the stutters are the dips and spikes you see.

please let me know what's going on or how i can fix this stuttering.
 
If I had to guess, something went wrong with the cloning process. I've personally seen nothing but nightmares with cloning and SSD's, whether it be to another SSD or from a HD. (I dont care what companies say to sell software, imaging, while convenient, does cause issues sometimes).

I'd check the alightment first...

A clean Win7 install is likely the best option to fix it though.

AS-SSD will show if it is aligned by reporting something like "1024K - OK" in green, if it's red it's out of alignment.
Latest firmware on SSD?
 
You mean you are having a problem with a Vertex? Really, I thought those drives were bulletproof, most reliable out there, and stuttering was never a problem :p

Return it, and get something else(510,320,M4) and do a FRESH INSTALL.
 
How about you uninstall and reinstall the Intel RST drivers?
tried that, didn't help. thanks for the suggestion though

i think alignment might be the problem. in the AS-SSD benchmark, "msahci" says OK, but "31K" says BAD. this means it's misaligned right? the 4k write scores look horrible :(

i also took a screenshot of diskpart. it says offset is 31kb, which is not an integer of 4kb, that means it's misaligned right?

Did you use an old acronis ?

Do you have a vertex, or a vertex 2, or a vertex 3 ?
 
If you have the original disc, you can use WD's free clone tool to re-clone it - their tool is SSD aware and will align correctly. It is possible to re-align it, but it is kind of a pain in the ass. There used to be a free tool (Paragon Alignment or something like that) but it isn't free any longer. You can use GParted instead, but it isn't exactly intuitive.
