Hello, I have recently installed a SSD with my OS. My HHD is also connected, and contains my whole old computer (OS, files, etc). My question is about integration, do I format the HDD, does it act like a USB flash drive from now on, or do I make my own folders on it for programs?

Your HD just acts like a second disk.

do I format the HDD

If there is nothing valuable on the drive that you want you can format it to wipe out any data that is previously on it and use it as a second disk.

or do I make my own folders on it for programs?

Like a USB stick on any other read/write storage you can make folders for programs. When you install them you must tell the installer to use the other disk by changing the path for the install provided the installer allows that. You can also link folders from the SSD to the hard drive where a folder on the hard drive will look no different from a folder on the SSD to the os. So C:\somefolder could actually be on the harddrive instead of the SSD.
