How often (or should I ever) perform error checking on my SSD? I used to do it monthly on my HDD. Thanks in advance.
 
I would say as often, but it's really up to you. You can still end up with errors, directory issues, etc with SSDs, just as you can with mechanical drives.
 
In my desktop and laptop - never. The data retention time is at least one year by the spec and should be significantly higher on SSDs that are not worn out.
My server SSDs get a complete data check once monthly together with all other drives. I have yet to see a block error on an SSD.
