So i just ordered the sr2. And now a couple of more questions:

I use a pair of lowly x5550 quads - what kind of temps could i expect on air using my Noctua NHU12DX 1366 coolers, assuming clocks in the mid 3's - not looking for any super OC.

Also is the temperature gradient/difference between CPU0 and 1 real or is it simply an error the CPU temp reporting?

thanks

I'd guess mid 60's.

I'd have to guess that it is real... but, dunno for sure

/shrug

The temps seem accurate, and adjusting airflow can help even out the temps (running nekkid is even better). My two X5650 temps are almost the same (averaging across all cores) -- one of the CPUs runs a little hot, so I put it in socket 0, which is usually a little cooler, and everything evened out. If you're not pushing the OC to the max, it's not a big deal.

X5550's are hot running chips, although you should have plenty of cooling with the Noctuas. You should be fine temp-wise. It will be interesting to see what you can get out of those.

If you aren't looking for a crazy OC, 3.9-4.0 should be easy on those chips, and that will bring you around 75-80k

Im guessing temps mid 60's, maybe 70's if you put it in a case
