So I went to switch my sr-2 over to Ubuntu, but Ubuntu can't detect my ide hard drive that I want to install it on. Yet its seem in boot order selector, AND its running Win Server 08 r2 right now.

I even booted up the livecd, and tried to use qparted and the volume manager to find it but I can't see it.

HELP I need more ppd!

I was going to ask if it was jumpered to slave status, but you have it on boot order, so that shouldn't be it.
Not sure otherwise.

I hate IDE.

Stupid jumper settings and big wide cables.

I would try different cables and different jumper settings. You have some bad mojo and common sense does not apply.

From some high-level Googling:
- Try the different jumper positions on the IDE drive. Cable Select was mentioned as being needed.
- Try both the AHCI and IDE settings for the drive in the bios. AHCI may be needed.
- Which version of Ubuntu are you trying? Try a newer (if possible) and even an older version.
- Try the server version of Ubuntu
- Try a different distro - at least a LiveCD to see if the drive picks up

Let us know what you find.

God being a cripple sucks... Not pysically able to try any of the switch this or that right now, as my hands don't function to do that.

I'm running 10.10, or trying to run 10.10.

It burns me windows boots fine, but Linux won't

thaks folks

Well I tried all my google-fu and all i found was your posts over at EVGA, I'm surprised you're the first to post about this issue, wish I had an SR-2 to help you with.
