SR-2 memory troubleshooting

I woke up this morning to a hung SR-2. FAH had crashed yet again overnight. When I tried to restart it, it continued to crash and eventually flushed the current WU and went into an EUE loop for a few units. I shut down FAH and figured I would see how far into the memory I could get with LinX. Anything over 2Gb would crash LinX in a couple of passes. So I believe I have a serious memory issue going on here. Backing bclk down to 190, relaxing memory timings, and adjust Vtt and IOH all over the place had no effect.

Right now, I am running 2 sticks at 190 bclk/1520 memory and LinX at max memory, swapping in one memory stick at a time. This is a painfully slow process, but it is the best I could come up with.

Does this sound like a good strategy? Any other ideas for troubleshooting?

Do they pass memtest? That would be a better indicator to use if you haven't tried that yet. Have to do 1 stick at a time though to weed out any possible bad dimms.
What speed of ram do you have? 1333 or 1600? 1333 will 99% of the time run 1600 with a vdimm bump to 1.65 or 1.66 (depends on the bios setting and which you have to pick), that's been my experience at least. What are your vdimm and timings set at?

These are OCZ Gold PC1600 modules. They are running at 1.669V and 8-8-8-20-88-7-14-7-7-2T, which is what they default to other than the 2T. I have actually seen memtest86 pass and LinX fail, which is why I was going this route for testing. memtest86 is next up, though.

I found two sticks that failed LinX at max memory setting for two sticks. I am in the process of testing some othe PC1600 I have to replace these two. Once I have 6 sticks that pass LinX max memory, I am going to populate all the slots and start testing with LinX at max memory for 12Gb. If that passes, I'll run memtest86 with all sticks. If that passes, I think I will be stable...maybe... :)

Memory really sucks...I feel for MIBW and all of his testing with 12 sticks.

This is encouraging. I am at 15 passes of LinX at 10Gb and still running.

Looks like 198 bclk/1584 memory is about all I am going to get out of this mismatched mess of memory. It still appears stable in LinX at 10Mb memory setting. Maybe i can actual get this thing folding again soon...
