SQL help

So I've got a table that lists serial number, weight, and a pallet number

1234, 20, pallet1
1235, 20, pallet1
1236, 21, pallet1
1237, 20, pallet2
1238, 20, pallet2
1239, 25, pallet2

My goal is to have a query that returns the total weight of each pallet:
pallet1 = 61
pallet2 = 65

For some reason my brain can't figure this out today. Any help is appreciated.

Select palet, sum(weight) from table order by palet group by palet

Select pallet, sum(weight) from table order by palet group by pallet

GROUP BY before ORDER BY.

sorry i typed it quick normally in an IDE can't make that mistake it won't run.

Do you even need the group by? since you're summing weights for the pallets, you would only have 1 final entry for each pallet. Then again, I don't use SUM() much so I may be mistaken here.

I used the group by and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help.
