Spyder3Express Question

So I am thinking about purchasing the Spyder3Express. I am currently using an NEC 20WMGX2. I frequent tft central and what I gather from reading reviews over there is that monitors can greatly benefit from proper calibration. Will the Spyder3Express be enough. The express version doesn't factor in ambient light and it says it is only for single monitor calibration. I plan on getting the HP ZR24W soon, so I would also like to use it for that. Can the software be uninstalled and reused on a different display?

Thanks,
Josh

The automated calibration software produces a file that is used by Windows to implement the calibration. The software does not allow you to produce multiple monitor profile files that can be used at the same time by Windows. In other words, multiple monitors configuration such as Eyefinity is not supported (but a workaround may be possible). But, I do not see any issue with calibrating a replacement monitor.

I do not like the automated calibration approach since it is not very robust.
Maybe you could get a meter (such as Spyder3 or EyeOne Display 2) and download ColorHCFR , a free calibration program, and perform the calibration yourself by adjusting the monitor setting options?
