Could I do it? I have a really nice SPST switch (military) that I want to use in an ammo case to open my CD drive.
 
it would work, but you'd have to flip it on then back off sorta fast for it to work. CD buttons are momentary, meaning that the contacts only work white you are pressing it. Otherwise they (contacts) are open.
