Hey do i need to or is it wise to leave that little sponge inside the bitspower Z multi 40? It doesnt say in the instructions.
Also, do you guys use the anti cyclone plug or will it reduce water flow too much?

That sponge is actually a "feature." It's supposed to be a filter in case there are any impurities, and it also serves to reduce turbulence/cycloning in your res, which could help reduce aeration.

If you don't mind the aesthetics, I'd keep it in. Otherwise people have been running without this sort of thing for ages.

I looked at Bitspower and it seems as if they are recommending periodic replacement. Might want to look into the life expectancy of these things. I cant' imagine them breaking down (they have to be designed against that), but if they get full of crud they'll definitely need to be replaced. Along those lines, it might be smart to avoid particulate coolants like the metalic ones, etc.
