Hey guys, I am looking for some free software to split an avi into 2 or 3 parts to fit them on vcds. Know of any good ones?

Thanks in advance

Probably any good encoder can do this. However, even if it can't, just after you encode the AVI to MPG, use a mpeg splitter to split it up to fit appropriately.

I personally recommend using TMPGEnc for the encoding. I'm pretty sure I remember being able to use it to output to split files, but, even if that is wrong, I KNOW it has built in MPEG tools, including a splitter.

EDIT: Oh... You were using Nero to encode those weren't you... I STRONGLY recommend using an external software. Those CD burning software programs rarely have very good encoders at all. They usually default to the fastest encode at the cost of a LOT of quality...

use the free program avi2svcd. Works like a charm and it is free.
