Splitting large screen

Hello,
I would like to configure a Linux desktop to host two (or three) VMs using a single 50" HD monitor (TV).
One need of mine is to split this large screen into four smaller ones, just to keep my eyes on a single screen to avoid constant neck and back pain.
So I need yours expert advice to identify the best Video Card that allows above configuration.

Depends on what you're trying to do. There's no way I know of to literally share the card across VMs, but of course you can run the card from the host OS and then use VNC or RDP or the console app of the VM software to display each of the VMs as windows on the monitor. While I don't have your use case, I do run a GTX 970 and 4k 48" screen on my Linux box to do away with multi-monitor hassles. On occasion I use VNC and RDP to VMs (not on the local system) and of course can spread them out across the space to see all of each VM. On another system where I run VMs locally (VirtualBox) I still prefer RDP to bring up the console rather than the VB gui.

In none of these cases do I have experience w/ 3d acceleration or attempting to game.

Basically what I want is having a single large screen, that could be split by the video card driver or any other (free/Open Source) software.
I was thinking if it is possible to have four Linux workspaces opened (two rows + two columns) simultaneously, this way I can have each session separately.
 
Should be able to place some borderless windows in the four quarters, like 4 vbox sessions. But it won't be like 4 separate dedicated X sessions, etc.
