Is it possible to output different sources of audio to 2 different places.

I have a three display setup with one being an hdmi tv. I like to play tv shows (or just pandora music) on the tv while I play games, while my wife is in the room I'd like to be able to send the game sound to a set of headphones while the show still plays through another output of some form. Sounds like an odd request, but that way I don't have to completely mute the game.
 
Yes, in Windows set your headphone output as the default sound output device. This will make your game sounds come out your headphones.

Then use a video player like Media Player Classic: HomeCinema and go into View->Options->Playback->Output and set the Audio Renderer to the HDMI TV audio output and the sound for the video will go there.
