Figured I'd start a discussion thread about this game. After playing the demo on XBL, I am actually pretty excited for it to come out. I loved the original Splinter Cell, but for some reason I never even played the sequels. The demo definitely has me ready to pick up the newest iteration. I really like the stealth mechanics and the art style of Conviction a lot. Anyone else picking this up soon?
 
Picked it up on Amazon for 46$.. Looking forward too it. I love how you can setup a plan in a room and execute it flawlessly. But at the same time you can play old school if you want.. Also played the demo.. (main reason i decided to get) Loved it.
 
I'm going completely the other way... game just didn't feel like Splinter Cell to me, and as a massive Splinter Cell fan (well, except for the last one) I found that really disappointing. Tried it on hard and it felt more like Fisher of War than Splinter Cell.

I understand they wanted to go in a new direction, I'm just not happy with the direction they've gone in.
 
Not really sure if I like the direction this series is heading, but that didn't stop me from preordering it on Amazon for $46 (as opposed to $60, what a deal). Besides, I've been waiting for a new SC game for too long.
 
I went ahead and pre-ordered the SE version....

I honestly cant wait for it

And yes, Double Agent was shitty
 
It's a Ubisoft game which means no buy from me due to their odious DRM on recent PC games.
 
I finally got around to playing the demo, on my Xbox, last night. I really liked it. I'm still playing through Double Agent though, so it might be a while before I get it.
 
I really liked the older versions with the execption of double agent which I thought sucked. Hated the weird timed missions in it.

Played the demo of conviction and plan on picking it up. Not a big fan of the new print and shoot setup but we will see. Also didn't like how it wouldn't let me carry bad guys to hide them. Didn't need to do this in the demo but it was a big part of some of the older games.

I was at a buddies house this weekend and he already has the game...i've played all of the other SC games and wasn't Sam's daughter much older? In this she is like 6-7? Also, how many times are they going to change the way the man looks? He's older in this game but he actually looks younger? Don't get me wrong, i loved what little bit i played before we left, just think they need to keep things consistant for a better overall expierence. You didn't see Snake make his debut on PS3 and look 20 years younger than in the previous games. :]

Yes, I know. But when I do a boycott I boycott the company and not just some of their products. If I didn't that would make me spineless.
 
does anyone know if this is coming to the Wii?

I know a while back, they (ubi) said that it was going to be a 360 and PC exclusive.... but now they're doing a PS3 version as well. Figured that they'd probably do a Wii version too, since they released double agent for it last time, but I can't find any solid info on it.

I wish the PC version was worth buying :\

I just double checked, apparently it came from two ubisoft employees, but it hasn't been confirmed, officially, yet.

I thought I had read that it was a sure thing, sorry about that.
