Last night, while loading up to play ut2k4 and battlefield 1942, the splash screen that is displayed during load times had 1 inch squares all over it. I wouldn’t have thought anything about it except that it occurred when running two different games and only during the splash screen that are displayed while the game is loading. I didn't notice any other artifacts.

Is this a problem with the card, or could it be caused by the computer setting up the resolutions for the game etc?
I never saw this on my older ti4200 card.

I've seen them too but I think its a driver issue mainly. Doesn't effect ingame graphics at all, just the 2D splash screen.

Could be a driver issue. I would uninstall, and use a utility ro remove all of the detonator files, then reinstall with a known good driver (WHQL or a known good beta). Also, have you overclocked the card farther than what it was out of the box?

Are you overclocking???? Plus you are still using a P4 1.6a. Might want to upgrade that later on if you are a game player, that is going to be your bottleneck....

Oops, forgot to change my sig.

I'm not overclocking yet. Interesting in that someone else had seen the same thing though.

I get the same thing with splashscreens / load screens.

I have a BFG 6800 ultra. Happens in most games, Far Cry, BF1942...

No problems in game. No problems anywhere else. Since it's just a splashscreen I never really looked further into it.

It's got to be a driver issue then, especially if you aren't OC'ing it.
