Hey there,

I was wondering, is anyone having trouble launching the game? I installed everything correctly then tried to reinstall, and I just got an 8800 GTS so the graphics drivers are updated. Im pretty sure my sound drivers are too. I have windows xp media center 2005.

All my other games work flawlessly! However, when I go to hit the launch icon or PLAY on the autoplay menu for Spiderman it looks like it starts to load and flickers, then nothing...

Can anyone help here?

Thanks in advance ;)

I had similar issues. I found out it was my Saitek Eclipse 1 keyboard. Under Device Manager, there are 3 'Human Interface Devices' that relate to my keyboard. I had to disable 2 of the 3 leaving typing functionality.
I have also read that many people are having to physically unplug various USB devices prior to starting Spider-Man 3. Usually game pads of various sorts.
let me know if this helps.

Also, 1GB of RAM for this game under XP = choppy despite my 8800GTS. I through in another 512mb stick to put me at 1.5GB and it ran smooth. Only issue is, the timings on that 512mb stick does not have as good timings and I lost my 400mhz overclock. So now I'm upgrading my socket 939 to an AM2 system with 2GB's of RAM.

wow sorry for not replying to you on this topic!

Yeah it turned out that my microsoft racing wheel was the problem. I was frantically searching random forums and stumbled upon one from gamespot and found out what was happening with the usb devices :(

Yeah i have 2GB, with 939. Runs beautifully, just as well as a PS3 (of course) if not better ;)

Thank you though for helping!
