While not tech related, it appears that a Spider-Man film is yet again breaking box office records. At this point people believe it could possibly top the $140 million mark by the end of the weekend.

According to Box Office Mojo and other internet sources, Spider-Man 3 has grossed an estimated $59 million on its opening day including a record number of sold out Thursday midnight screenings, estimated to have brought in $10 million of that amount. DeadlineHollywood reports that the third installment of Sony's blockbuster franchise grossed $104 million worldwide yesterday making May 4, 2007 the highest single day gross in box office history.

I thought it was great! A little more over the top with humor than the first two, but still well paced and balanced with action and dialogue. Also, Sam Raimi still gives the film depth and gravitas, particularly with the Sandman's moral progression.

***SPOILER*** Highlight to Read:
I loved the Sandman genesis scene, seeing Marko try to pull himself back together for the sake of the locket with his daughter's picture

It's definitely the worst of the 3.

I can't believe they used a script like that...so horrible especially compared to the original two movies. For Raimi to attach his name to that movie is a damned shame.

Of the 140 minutes that movie runs, only 40 minutes of it is worth watching.

The next movie BETTER have Carnage in it.

So I can get pumped by playing Spiderman and Venom: Maximum Carnage for SNES again :D

while I wouldn't say it was horrible it was definately mediocre and If the first one would have been similar quality a second and third would have never been been made.

The movie was okay but could have had a few scenes left out. The action scenes were nice but things got bogged down elsewhere.

And I stll think the landlord's duaghter is hotter the MJ :p

It was mediocre. Not as bad as it could have been, but that will be enough of Spidey for a lifetime.

Make a followon for Batman Returns instead.... much better made.

The Year of the sequel is underway.... yippee :p  :D

Spiderman One was not good, goblin looked, acted and in one scene sounded like godzilla characters, actualy he looked like Ultraman and sounded like Mechagodzilla!!!
Now Spiderman 2 was The best period! Best villan, wide, wide screen, and the elevated train scene was over the top.
Part 3 I will reserve my thoughts till Monday when I get to see it with my 3 year old son.
I want it to be great.

Wow...so this truly isn't worth seeing? I would love the chance to see Venom jumping around :(

I was very disappointed in the movie.

But as far as the sales records go, it's all BS.

OF COURSE it broke records. They raised the prices between .50 and 1.00 2 weeks before it came out.

Freaking rats.

hmm my friend went to an ultrascreen showing. wonder what his response will be.

Just got back from it. It was a good movie from the approach they took to make it. But I did get pissed off, since I know the comic books and Spiderman story and the movie in no way represented the story. Im mostly talked about the final battle and what happened.

Venom is the combination of Eddie Brock and the parasite. Just like Carnage is the combination of a different parasite and Cassedy.

this is not Spiderman 2
watched it twice
the second time is a WHOLE lot better
liked it

Have to say I was really, really disappointed with this one. I like the first two a lot and was looking forward to seeing it, but every time I thought it was going to get good they'd slow it way down. Seems like they were wanting to inject more drama than action into this movie.

Well if you enjoyed the first two (as I did very much), you'll want to go see this. That said I walked away kind of disappointed. I think the story tried to involve way to many elements, and just didn't have the same "feel" as the first two. I think it was just implemented poorly. Still beats out a lot of the stuff they're release lately hands down though.

IMO 3 badguys are too much.
The director fails to tie all the stories together. Sandman contributes little to the movie and only steals screen time from Venom.

The way the alien symbiot appears is ridiculous, specially when you have an astronaut in spiderman 2.

Horrible movie. Kirsten Dunst made me wanna puke, as did all the on screen crying, wtf?

My favorite part of the movie was when Peter Parker was infected w/ aggression and went around trying to act like a "player".

SPOILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my favorite was when Harry comes into help Peter and they tag team?
