Speedstep question

Hi,
I've recently OC my 6400 to about 3.2. Anyways, now that it's stable, I want to re-enable some of the power saving features. In the BIOS, I enabled the TM1 & TM2, but the "Intel Speedstep" option is disabled & greyed out.

I'm wondering why that is? Is it because the voltage for CPU is manually set instead of auto now?

Edit: Forgot to add, my motherboard is eVga 680i.
 
It's very possible that because the cpu voltage is not set in auto, speedstep is disabled. Did you try to set the cpu voltage in auto and see if the option get reenabled ?
 
If you manually set the CPU multiplier to a fixed value it will also get rid of the SpeedStep option.

The throttling feature works now, but speedstep is still not working. Tried setting the voltage back to auto(not that I want to), but it still doesn't enable the greyed out option. I guess the only way would be to reset the settings back to default.
 
Even if I set my settings to default speedstep doesn't work for me anymore. It used to, but hasn't for some time. Since I use a 7 multiplier I don't care really, but FYI.
