I just downloaded the latest Speedfan and Coretemp and ran them at the same time on a Q6600 (at 3.0) and Abit IP35 Pro with TR 120 Ultra air cooling. Coretemp seemed stable but reported each core at a slightly diifferent temp (idle), like 40-38-36-32 or similar. What was really crazy was Speedfan showing the CPU fluctuating from MINUS 60C to over 110C and everywhere in between. That can't be normal right?

-60C to +100C? That definitely can't be right.

Same here, I just finished builting my comp and I'm running speedfan right now on my e6750.
It reports:
cpu: -100c
core 0: 7c
core 1: 7c
core: 61c with the flame icon
core temp on the other hand reports both cores running at 21c
It reports:
cpu: -100c
core 0: 7c
core 1: 7c

Version 4.32 is reporting on par with core temp P-35 and E6850.
