Speed up True430 fans?

I just screwed up my old power supply so I ran out and got a Antec TruePower 430watt. But it leaves so much heat in my computer. There's just no need for the fans to be running as slow as 1300rpm. Is there any way to speed this up manually?

On the True line of power supplies, the interal fans are controlled the same way the "fan only" connectors are. So, if you want to make them run full speed, you need to hook them up to a regular +12v line.

That seems to be the only way. I'd be nice to have something in between though, my exhaust fans aren't really doing anything.

That was his question...

The power to the fans is thermally controlled. The only way to force them to speed up would be to rip open the power supply and rewire the fans to the standard 12V line.

Unless you know what you're doing, I'd advise against it, as it will also void your warranty and you could give yourself a nasty shock.

You shouldn't be relying on the PSU fans to be cooling your computer anyway. Add an exhaust fan to your computer.

Yah, I don't think I'm quite ready to open up my PSU and start messing around with the fans. I have 2 80mm exhaust fast. One is a lian-li standard and the other is modded in (pretty poorly). With my old 300w power supply i had cpu/mobo temps of about 50/30. With the new antec they've gone up to about 56/32 with about the same environment.

Guess I'll just live with the temps or turn up the rpms on my cpu fan. Thanks for the replies.
