Hi Guys

I've got a Cooler Master Extreme Power 500w (20db)
http://www.coolermaster-europe.com/...P&other_title=+RP-500-PCAP+eXtreme Power 500W

Yeah that 20db sounded more like 35db after 5 minutes of start of my pc.

The store did not want to return it, so what do you do when you got a powersupply that sounds like an vaccumcleaner? You speed the fan down!

Yeap, I took an 12v - > 7v adapter and hooked in between the powersupply and fan. And yes, finally so silent so I can sleep with it next to me tonight

But the question is, how danger is it speed down the fan ~30% ? It still got its own tempmonitor... and the PSU, I guess have some built-int protection against heatingproblems so it will turn it self off..? Anyone done this?
