i'm not sure what is going on.
my wireless router is downstairs (no coax to this room), so i ordered a usb 802.11b/g stick, and it appears to be functioning ok.

linksys 54GL router, with ww-drt v23.
everything is basically back to stock/default settings, except for XMitPower (set to 251/max).

From wired PC, DSL speed test is 20mbit/5mbit
from my PC i was doing about 1mbit/1mbit on speed tests.

got another laptop (older dell 802.11g), and it was doing (in the same location as my PC, upstairs) 6mb/3-4mbit...so it appears the issue is with my usb or my computer.

drivers appear to be ok (06/2008),. i just did another test and am now getting 3.5/3, but still not what my laptop is getting.

has anyone else seen issues with rosewell WLAN NICs?
can't think what else the problem might be.
thanks,
