lol there will be 4K 60Hz TVs probably at $300 by then. I'm sure TVs will be "repurposed" for monitors by then as well by removing the TV Tuner and then calling it a monitor.
However thus far only AMD hardware can run it at 4K60 via HDMI or DP (natively without dual controllers). Nvidia's current Keplar and Maxwell cards use only 400MHz pixel clocks, both too slow for DP or HDMI to drive to 4K60 (need 600MHz). Because of the uncertainty of Nvidia hardware being 4K compliant, I'm guessing we will see primarily HDMI-based monitors with 4K60 from major TV manufacturers at the el-cheapo prices.

That'll be news to the [H] team, Brent & Kyle, who wrote an article on gaming at 4K on both AMD and Nvidia cards.
If it's got a DP 1.2 connection it will support a 4K monitor at 60 Hz, but various [H] articles indicates that you really need a 780 or 780 Ti to get decent 4K performance with moderately good settings and SLI to get good performance with high settings.
