Speakers for Integrated Audio

I'm looking to get some 2.1 speakers for my setup (specs in sig). The mobo has integrated audio and I'm not interested in getting a audio card. 2.1 was decided on because I don't want to clutter the desk any more than it already is. The sub will be mounted under the desk or put on the floor.

The price isn't a huge issue, but I don't want to pay for speakers that I won't get the benefit of with the onboard audio. They'll be used for moderate gaming, playing cd's and general computer use.

I'd also like them to be asthetically pleasing. The theme is black/silver with the logitech MX Duo, Sonata and the Viewsonic VP171S.

Anyone have any good suggestions or things to stay away from?

Also, will the onboard audio limit the capabilities of high end speaker?

Thanks for any input.
