Hello. I am having a problem. Whenever I move my mouse, or scroll down pages, or drag windows around my screen, or do just about any computer task, my speakers buzz. If I dont move the mouse, there is no buzz from the speakers. I have tried many different solutions but none have worked for me. I am running Windows XP Pro (SP2), Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, and Soundblaster Audigy 2. I am using an optical Logitech USB Wheelmouse. These are the things I have already tried:
-Muting unneeded inputs
-Updating Soundcard Drivers
-Updating Chipset drivers
-Switching PCI slots
-Switching USB Ports
-Separating mouse and speaker cables
-Tried onboard sound, (problem still present)
-Tried PS/2 mouse, (no good either)
I have tried many things, Im probably leaving a few out. If you have any idea of how to solve this annoying problem, please help :(

No. Just the soundcard plugged in to the PCI slot. I have Digital CD Audio enabled.

What's your video card? Also, try routing the soundcard cables far away from any other cables.

I think it may very well be an issue with my video card. My video card is a Geforce FX 5200 (yes, crappy, I know).I am using beta 67.66 drivers.
I have found that moving the cables far away reduces the buzzing, but it is still present.

I get a funny noise when I leave my cell phone near my speakers, sometimes it will make a buzzing noise in a musical way. The closer the cellphone is, the louder the noise. May be the same for your mouse.

I used to get that problem until I switched to a home theater receiver - My midiland 5.1 "computer" speakers picked up mad interferencefrom my cell phone, however, my yamaha HTR-5730 gives no such issue.. then again, it's got an optical link to my soundcard, rather than analog electrical... so, that might be part of it too.

Do you guys think that It could be related to my video card. I have noticed it has started acting weirdly lately. For example, I dont get it when I'm on my desktop or in windows explorer, or in games. I do get it in my browser though (Firefox). I can firefox open in a small window and while my cursor is on the desktop space, there is no buzzing, but as soon as I move it into the browser window, the buzzing acts up again. Any ideas? (I have Smooth Scrolling disabled in Firefox.)

Yes, it is very much related to your video card. Try to beg/borrow another one, swap and test. The problem should go away. After confirmation, you can shop for a better one.
