hey guys, my pc speaker wires are 2 short i wanna have 5.1 suround sound and put 2 speakers behide me. now can i just slice the wire and use plain ol stereo wire?...thanks
 
you CAN but stereo wire is usually a lower gauge (bigger wire) it would be hard to splice a bigger wire into a smaller wire then into a bigger wire again. i recommend getting wire of the same gauge. and yes you can just splice them up, observe polarity!!!!!!!!!!! do 1 wire at a time, just dont cut stuff up. i recommend soldering as well, makes a better stronger connection because you will be tugging on the wire in the future, dont want it to break.
