Hi I have Logitech Z560 and my satellite speakers are making a very anoying his/buzz around 1K freq. (kinda like fingernail on a chalkboard kinda noise) its not loud, but its loud enough for me to hear it. I have turned my speaker volume all the way down and it still does it, so it has nothing to do with my computer output (I unplugged my speakers completely from my computer and just turned on my speakers with volume all the way down and it still did the noise) I also tried a different power outlet, so it wasnt sharing power with other devices, as when it was connected to my comp power strip.

So what Iam wondering is can rain have an affect on indoor speakers? I have only noticed this noise once it started raining here, and it hasnt let off in a week or so. The power cable for my speakers isnt a balanced connection, so Im thinking that the rain may be affecting my speakers somehow. Or the other reason is that my speakers may be going out :( which I hope is not the case.

Ill try and get a recording of the speaker noise and post it as an mp3 if that will help asses the problem.

Connect a set of headphones directly to the soundcard (just not through speakers), and see if you still get the annoying sound. Hopefully this can help you confirm if it's a soundcard interference issue, or dying :( speakers.
 
Ive allready done that. Its not my sound card. Im hoping its not that their dying... But is there still a chance that the rain can be affecting the speakers?
