i live in a dorm room, i have audigy 2 gaming, and z-5500's from logitech i got less than a year ago. Now occasionally i would hear a loud thud from my speakers sometimes when they were idle... but that pretty much stopped a couple of months ago. Yesterday when i got back to my room there was a constant crackle and pop coming from my speakers, when they are idle or playing anything, i reconnected all the wires and still, even if i turn the volume down its the same... the funny thing is if i plug my headphones into it, there is no crackle and pop in my headphones. Coincidentally my roommate was heating something in the microwave and there was a semi small boom from it because a small fire caught inside of it, im guessing that could have fried my speakers... So i am going to call logitech when their business hours are, so i guess monday? my question is, that noise is because its messed up im assuming, and how is logitech's RMA policy, are they quick on delivery? i do not have the box anymore but i can prove i was the one that made the purchase, i have all the receipts from amazon, and will they require me to send each part or only the sub and the unit...
