I have a set of Altec Lansing 5.1 Speakers and they are running off a SB Live 5.1 card. I have surround sound :)

Right now I disconnected them and connected my panasonic mini tower through a pair of RCAs and the AUX option.

I want to be able to use both the 5.1 speakers along with the panasonic speakers. Is there any way to do this?

I was thinking of a DJ mixer, but I want to preserve 5.1 surround sound.

TIA

What is this "Panasonic mini tower"?
Does it have multichannel analog inputs? S/PDIF?

Won't that lose on sound? I once hooked up a Y splitter to my discman so my gf and I could listen to it and the sound volume went down by 1/2 :(

im i'm getting this right-- then using a y-splitter in your case won't make a difference in sound quality.
from what i understand, you want to use both the panasonic's speakers (which are otherwise connected to the minitower) and also plug in the surround to the stereo RCA outputs?
the only reason that the volume dropped so dramatically on the discman was because it was trying to power two sets of headphones with an amp that was designed only to power one set. but since the minitower dosen't have anything connected to the RCA outputs right now, then if you smack a splitter on there, there is nothing else to draw power except the surround sound system. err... but if that was the case, then why would you need a splitter? just so you can have inputs for all of the speakers? i'm not sure i'm on solid ground here, but just trying to help, so i'm gonna post this anyway  . heh... hopefully this will be sorta helpful? good luck anyway...

Wow I didn't realize that something as simple as a Y splitter can hook everything up. The panasonic mini tower fixed what the altec's were missing out. Now the sound quality is very descent. I'm very impressed. Thanks a lot guys!
