After looking these over, I've decided I don't really know anything about speaker bars. I presently have a Logitech X-530 system that's pretty old now. The speakers are fine, but the cables have frayed near the jacks. I can replace these for 10 bucks and a bit of work, but due to limited space I've become very interested in getting a sound bar.
It would be all-purpose, for music, movies, and games. I have an HDMI switch with all my inputs meeting there, so I have a single HDMI cable that could be plugged into the bar. My TV has optical out, though I can't be sure if that's surround or not,
Basically, I'm looking for a speaker bar with good-quality virtual surround and at least an optical in, but an HDMI passthrough would be the most ideal. Budget is $200, with lower obviously being better.
