sparkle 9800 GT

Sparkle is known to make really good PSU's.
Never tried their video cards, though.

Oh wow.. hahahaaa.
Misleading names ftl

It got me too. I have been a big fan of Sparkle power supplies for a long time now. I saw the videocards on newegg and thought it was too good to be true. I did a quick google search and found out it was.

Something about this pic says Sparkle shouldn't be trusted

sorry j/k, move on plz

If you dont need it right away then wait for a good deal in the recertified section, I got a 9800GTX for around that much, theyre just as good as new.

Is there any reason you're choosing that particular card?
When I buy video cards, brands like Sparkle are always at the bottom of my list.

Good GPU, low price...building a budget rig for now
$109 for a 9800GT is low?
I've seen 4850's hitting that price mark. 4830's are down to about $80.

Even other 9800GT's should be cheaper than that, or similar.

edit;
4830 for $69 AMIR is a steal.
They should put you in jail for getting away with a deal like that.

Sorry for the double post, yea...im new to the hardware shopping thing, and ive always used nvidia chipsets so i didnt know how ati compared...

Something to consider is that the 4830 does not support PhysX while the 9800gt does. Its too early to tell if PhysX will ever truly take off but its clear from Mirror's Edge that sometimes the nvidia cards have a significant advantage from that since it can kill systems without hardware physx support.

I bought this card for my new htpc and it works great. Paired it with a pentium wolfsdale core duo, four gigs of ram, and a 1 terrabyte drive and its pretty zippy. The only downside right now is my seasonic psu has only 2 4 pin connectors which the sparkle 9800 gt needs both for adapter for 6 pin. Has plenty of sata power connectors 5 in all guess ill just have top buy a conversion cable. Overall if you building a small Pc the card rocks I cant wait to play some DOW2 on my 42in.

i cant tell if you are being serious or not.
