Spanning versus RAID

Picked up a couple drives over weekend sales and am replacing my old game drive with them. 6tb total 3 each, is there a reason for me to risk running raid 0 for them versus spanning the drives?
Looking at what people say online it's not really going to end up providing any tangible difference in load times if I run them in RAID 0.
Outside of bragging rights(used to be 2 raptors in RAID made your epeen huge) is there any reason I should run RAID instead?
