Spanned drives

I have running an ESXI host which i use pass through on a supermicro mv8 to a couple of sets of spanned drives (Its only media and im not worried about raid etc!)

I ahve bought a LSI 16 Port sas card and i want to migrate over to it. Can i just put the drives onto the new card and it will maintain the same spanned configuration?

I think JBOD or spanning is OS and controller dependent. You might get lucky though.

it will be the same host just different controller. ill see if i can put both in passthrough

Unless your just straight clicking on Torrents and put no effort into it, surely there must be something work protecting? Have you not put time into it?

I don't download Torrents, and I could rerip all 800+ movies I have, but Jesus that took way too much time to do again!

I have a set of 2tb drives (4 or so) that i copy my rips of stuff that i really dont fancy re-ripping etc.. otherwise its stuff im just keeping just because i have the space for it.
