Spank-a-Roo Runoff - Official Thread

I must agree with Marty that it is pretty odd that you removed Penguin. I mean, how seriously do you take the competition??

It was making me want to ramp up just to flog him a little harder but now I've lost the interest. If it was encouraging us TeamXFAU members to ramp, in the big scheme of things that's a good thing, right?
but we also want to have at least a fair contest...otherwise its no fun...and i know i wouldnt be motivated from either end of this arguement if it was that one-sided. that big of a difference is just bullying...my 2 cents

Well if you're from across the pond and agreeing with our Mary, that might be the start of the problem. But seriously, we're taking the competition seriously, however, we didn't force him to participate, and his request was enough to yank him. It kinda boils back to my fault since I picked a whole subteam on what must have been a down week.

Looks like we're doing a little better...I know that I am FLOGGING my Roo after being down at least 2K points...now up by 11K :D

I haven't been "nice".... in fact I've been ahead of my roo from the start. But in the last 3 days that roo has pulled off some kind of reverse Aussie rabbit/roo punch and clobbered me ! It appears his wank has a bigger crank than my wank  .. This is after I added a whole new box to my farm & got 2 more family borgs ! Mebbe the new borgs will start pitching in soon.... (Damn family wants to save money by actually turning their computers OFF at night !!) .. Achhhh, I'm pullin' me hair, but there's na' much left !

I have wandered into enemy territory here - hope I come out Okay - although we are all fold for a good cause.

RPhArrow you have been unlucky to have been paired with me. My PPD was down when this started - several boxen were off line whilst I was away. With them all working now and my new Inspiron 9400 folding, production is way up. Am quite surprised at the points from the 9400 - it seems to produce around the around the same as my opty 170 - around 400ppd.

Hi ya crosby ! Welcome to the DC [H]ard|Forum ! Well all the [H] folks in this gauntlet were or should have been well aware that it was the season for OCAU to be cranking back up , so our challenge has been to crank up production along with you.. I'm still working on a few ideas to keep up with you so don't count me out yet :p But I am jealous of your new Inspiron 9400 , 400ppd is pretty cool --- I think we should ALL have one . (And I'm trying to convince my wife -- right now ---:))

I should be getting a lot of help for the cause this week. Ordered a new Core Duo laptop. I installed internet at a Public Library and will make a case for borging their 5 computers (throwing in wiring them to the switch for free a sweetner). And will some parts I got I may be able to add 2 more crappers to the farm. I am hoping I can close in on 2k ppd.

Thanks for the welcome. I was quite impressed with the 9400 - its very quiet compared to my old p4 laptop as well as good folding output. Good luck with finding more boxen - unless I upgrade some of mine, production will stay about where it is.

OK...i think i got it down...i dont update all day, make him gain like 1k on me...make him think im slippin, and then BOOM last two updates of the day, i dump like 2k on him...is that what you mean??? Cuz that is what i have been doing all weekend :)

VIVA LA HORDE

Yikes ! Heatwave in the NW USA today, 94 F at my house, pushing many of my P4's into the 60+C range --- awfully close to having to make machine specific adjustments..... I have an old house , so I put AC in for the summer season only.... but it's not summer yet ! . Normal outdoor temps here should be 70-75F right now.....Wife is complaining that I'm just producing more hot air :(

P.S. I love rain & snow !!

I have had the A/C running since early April. It is in the 100's already. Getting pretty hot here still.

Music to a roo's ears, sweat you buggers, sweat. A balmy 10c ere, I've had to move 3 comps into the house to keep the winter chill off.

I like the idea. Go spank a roo.

I haven't folded in a few weeks, technical troubles, but I'm back. woo!

Doing my best.

Pocatello 159,087 14,140 -6,201

But I'm down by 6200. Sorry.

Spent all weekend working to get a new system running, but not successful. Ended up fixing my AMD 3200+.

What's up with the massive fluctuations in Rooland? I mean seriously, some of them spend a few months at 400ppd, and then bam, they're hitting 4k for 8 weeks. I know summers are hotter, but dang...

Ha Ha ! Where do you normally keep those 'puters, hanging in little pouches on the outside of your house ????? :p

I was wondering the same thing....

I was running 4 in the shed. But moved 3 to the comp room in the house. Seems silly running electric heater when I can warm the room just as well with 4 CPU's. So far it's working. I'll move them back to the shed in Nov when it starts warming up.

Son has a comp in his room, daughter has a laptop in her room. There is an old XP1700 in the kids loungeroom for kids visitors for gaming. Keeps the buggers off my main rig. The shed comp is for music and pr0n (and folding) It was supposed to have workshop manuals for my bikes, but I haven't found them yet. The search continues.

Excellent arrangement ! I'm still looking for a cooler spot to move my house comps out to :) The son's van doesn't cut it so far....

My computers are certainly keeping the chill out of the house - with 6 running things stay nice and warm. Although its only getting down to 15c at night where I am :)

It gets up to 15C here on a good day. I love the cool climate.
Enjoy it while it lasts.....6 mil points is a lot of ground to make up.

All they gonna make it, [H]? Hell no!!
:)
