sp2! where??

It's not available to the general public just yet, nor on Windows Update, just to MSDN and Technet subscribers. Give it a week or so... maybe sooner.
 
It will be up on Windows Update by the end of the month. If you are really impatient and want the stand alone RTM installer, go to my digital life and view about a week back, they have information on how to get the wave 0 release stand alone a little early. I tested it and it works.
 
It sucks that they don't have a clean install version, but I guess its not the end of the world. It can be slipstreamed, but I'm lazy.

You just have to look. I have the Vista x64 Ultimate SP2 RTM full install iso on my HDD right now. Sure there's plenty of hacked/lite(d)/home slip streamed versions, but you can get the legit one too. Either way you can run the installer version then run the sp cleanup tool afterwords, then defrag.
 
I believe build 6002 is the new vista sp2 rtm, it’s already out there in the illegal market but not yet in the legal one, at least in my area

Yeah, it's all over the net.

I personally havn't tried it but my friends like it. One friend was having some random stability issues like programs hanging for a few seconds but seems to be fixed with SP2.
 
There we go using that "illegal" terminology again, we're talking about a service pack for an operating system. There's nothing illegal involved here, so it would be really nice if people would stop and think about what they're about to say before just spouting off "it's illegal" when no law has been broken. If there is a law that's been broken, then prove it. Until then, it's just a leak of already completed and already available code - even in spite of the availability being to specific subscribers of MSDN and Technet.

If I use my Technet sub to grab it and post it on Usenet or a torrent - meaning Vista SP2 - there's nothing in the EULA included nor in anything Microsoft has that says "It's illegal and here's why..."

I mean, really... illegal to distribute a service pack? Please...

OMG PIRATED SERVICE PACK!! Are you serious? Gotta be one of the dumbest things I have heard in a while. Illegal... lol!
 
ya the op was asking about the service pack, but I was talking about the OS in my reply when I said build 6002, so when I said illegal I meant the torrent links for downloading the whole OS (Vista with SP2) with some “crack” file included.

The guy who distributed it is the same guy who attached this screenshot of his MSDN sub
