SP2 final better then beta??

Ok guys I need some help. My friend and me where having a debate and he thinks that the beta for SP2 is better then the final version.
The beta he is talking about is the one that came out about 1 month before the final. That you had to dl off the MS site. I on the other hand think that the final version is better. But I can not find any information to help me prove my claim besides saying that fianl version is FINAL so its better. :D (Thats a joke by the way)
So please some input would be a great help.
 
That's kind of why the Betas are released...to find issues and fix them for the final version.

Tell your friend I have some nice Pacific Ocean Front property to sell him in Pennsylvania.

Thanks for the quick answers now I can slap some sense into him with my SP2 update cd.
 
Part of the point of service packs is to ensure that you are up to date with the latest security and stability bugfixes. Beta code, after release, is old code, and cannot be expected to keep a system healthy. Although a few more application compatibility problems have been reported with SP2 final, I still can't see those as being a barrier to its use, especially considering the perilous nature of using a Windows box on any sort of network, highlighted by recent pandemic worms, as well as the brand new JPEG exploit.

Please, folks, run SP2 final. I have plenty of nerf bats ready should you want to keep using legacy service packs, or none at all.

LOL. Trust me I know how you feel. I used to run the beta version until the final and as soon as that came out I installed it. The problem is my dumb ass friend that needs to get hit with that bat. (after you take the foam off) because he believes that beta is better. :eek:

Also I have no clue why he is thinking this way. It might be because all the drugs his parents did in the 70's.
 
IMO, I've had WAY WAY more problems running final than I've had with any of the betas. I ran almost all the betas there were released at some point or another. I don't know what they did, but Final has caused a lot of problems for me on various systems. But, I still run Final because that's just good practice.
 
Not wanting to get into a debate,Yes Final is better!

But in the same breath, I had no software issues with any of the Beta versions compared to 7 or 8 with the Final version.
 
It should be unless it says beta on it....Look in system properties after you install it...
