other than creative, whats a good company that makes sound cards? im pissed off cause my audigy card cant use the front panel inputs on my case. any recommendations on what kinda card to get would be appreciated (no more than $70.00). im gonna be usin it for music mostly, some games.

Unfortunately, there are no PCI soundcards existing which even supports front-panel audio jacks at all whatsoever. (The Audigy2's are among the very few which can accept a proprietary audio panel.)

If you want to use the audio jacks built into your case, then you're forever stuck settling for motherboard-embedded audio (aka onboard audio). The case-mounted audio jacks will only work with the built-in audio on motherboards.
 
The only cards I have seen that support front-audio connectors are really cheap ones like C-Media chipsets and such. If you really need front-panel audio I would keep your current sound card and just run a headphone ext. cable from the output on the back and mount it in the front of the case.
 
wow, i would have thought by now front panel audio connectors would have been standard on sound cards. thanks for all the help guys i appreciate it.

im trying to visualize what you mean and i cant see what you're describing in my head. if u gotta pic or something to show me what ur talking about it'd help.

It sounds like he means plugging into the rear jacks from the outside, then looping the cable through an open expansion slot into the case and all the way to the front panel.

IIRC the AV-710 has a header on it for front pannel IO's but I don't recall ever seeing any documentation for this feature.
Here is the pinout for the Audigy cards that have the header on the top left of the card.

That would cost $100 plus tax and shipping - way more than the amount the OP wanted to spend to begin with.

oh, yes I see, but he will prolly not find anything cheeper... if he likes the audigy the I/O Drive add would be what he is looking for...
 
the card im getting isnt for me, its for a comp im building for my brother, he wanted front panel audio on it, but i knew the audigy's didnt support it, and theyre the only sound card company i have any exp wit.
