I have an Audigy 2ZS and was thinking of stepping up to the XFi Fatal1ty, is it worth for gaming or listening to music? Thanks

how do you use your sound card? what games do you play? do you use headphones more than not?

and to the reply, at least give the guy a reason why "you wont notice the difference."

some people find that the headphone support alone is worth an upgrade. others like hearing BF2 in ultra high quality mode, which is only available to X-Fi users.

it also matters on what speakers and headphones you are using. if you're using low quality gear, thats what you're going to hear...low quality. but i'd venture that if you're using a high quality set of speakers and/or headphones, you'll hear a difference. i know on my gigaworks, i do.

279 is a lot to spend, though. if you aren't sure, i'd reccomend getting an xtreme music from fry's or some other establishment with a lenient return policy first and trying it out. if you dig it, return it and get the Fatal1ty if you feel its worth it. and if you don't like it, just return it.

I have a Klipsch THX 2.1 system and I use headphones mostly for games. I heard something about the Xfi soundcard taking less strain off the system resulting in less lag in game performance. I didn't know if that was just a marketing ploy or for real.

well, it has the potential to, with X-Ram, but any of the audigy/xfi cards will reduce the load on your CPU. i wouldnt necessarily buy a sound card for a performance increase, but for a quality of experience increase. especially in headphone gaming you'll notice a considerable difference in how your games sound.

Thanks for the reply. :D
