Hey guys i was wondering if its worth buying a new soundcard for my gaming rig....i currently have the soundblaster audigy 1 and i love it and all and have had 0 problems with it...but im just wondering will i hear a BIG difference if i upgrade to say a soundblaster audigy2 zs??? I only have a 4.1 altec lansing THX Speakers....and the audigy2 zs is only $80 what you guys think? Worth it?? *I only game and listen to MP3s, CDs, DVD Movies.* Thanks in advance guys!

No need. Plain and simple. I dont even use speakers so I didn't need to spend all this money on a sound card, then more cash on speakers. I bought Plantronics DSP-500s for about $90 and they're usb and have an internal simulated 5.1 digital sound card in them :) And I've used Audigy 2's .. my headsets > any speaker setup IMO.

I need a "gaming" soundcard is what i got good enough or would the audigy2 zs improve soundquality? (on speaker setup) i don't use headsets. (and this is the right forum thankyou)

I'm not chewing you out. You just need to recognise how the forums are laid out. This belongs in the "Computer Audio" section just as much as a post that asks which video card is best suited for Doom 3 belongs in the "Video Cards" section.

If you love your soundcard then why would you want to trade it in for another ? btw just curious do you treat your wife the same way ? hehe

Next to the two satellites, of course.

5.1 headphones are a big pile of marketing BS, as they sound worse than your average headphones while costing entirely too much.

I use a pair of good quality sony headphones with my my a7v333 ac'97 onboard audio and it sounds great
