I was wondering what soundcards will be the best for this system, but not too good! For example, I think that the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum would be too good for this system. :p

Even the soundstorm boards use the Realtek 650 chip. Soundstorm just adds the digital capability and whatnot [APU]
I run my Pro4.1s from my A7N8X-Deluxe 1.04 board. The audio is just fine. The Pro4.1 cables could use some more shielding to get rid of the interference from USB and drives but can only hear it when you have volume cranked on the pod which mine is usually at 9o'clock.
Perfectly quiet last time I check with my Grado 325s directly connected to the front output on the mobo.
 
With the 2200's (basically 2.1 Z-560's) I believe the A2 ZS is thoroughly overkill.

For 2 channel output EAX HD is irrelevant, the Santa Cruz should be fine. The onboard audio may even be good enough for you: as Paragon noted "Soundstorm" doesnt mean "no Realtek CODEC" because every Soundstorm motherboard ever made uses a cheap CODEC for analog output. The deluxe model of that board still uses the same CODEC, it just has hardware dolby digital encoding which is totally irrelevant with the Z-2200's because they don't have a digital input.

If you want a Creative card there's no reason to spend the extra ~$15 on the A2 ZS with those speakers; the regular A2 OEM is still overkill.

How are the 2200's? Better than the $121 Klipsch GMX A-2.1's? (BTW: I want good bass)

That is the point..... kill the upgrade bug before it even bites.
Then we won't have to deal 6 sperate threads about the same topic in a month or two. ;)
 
Kinda off topic here sorry but since we're talking about the Z2200's does anyone happen to know where the headphone jack is located on them. Is it on the sub, or one of the speakers or where? I can't tell from any pictures.

It should be on the corded controller that you use to adjust the volume. Thats where mine is on the Logitech Z-5300's.

And i would go for the Audigy 2 ZS Gamer because it comes with the huge game bundle and its a great value for like $110 at Newegg.

Halo, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider AOD, Raven Shield, and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

ZipZoomFly has them with a MIR for $30. You'll pay a little more then Newegg but it will end up only costing around $99 shipped.
