I just got Logitech z-560s for my Sony Laptop, I only want to use them for music/dvds. Is my integrated soundcard sufficient for that? I ordered a USB Audigy 2 but since its out of stock I'm considering cancelling my order--I dont want to pay for it unless its really necessary.
 
if you have the z-560s and your laptop with you, can't you just try it to see if it works? your integrated sound card shouldn't be in surround; i can't see it having more than two channels, so i don't think you'll be able to use all of your z-560's channels, but it should still work. if you're looking for better sound quality and you can afford it, then i deffinatly wouldn't cancel the Audigy 2. with the Audigy 2 you will be able to playback movies and such in 5.1 channels on your z-560s
 
Yeah, they WORK but I don't know what I'm missing, if anything. When you say better sound quality, how drastic will the improvement be?
 
Can somebody else please give me advice, I'm going to cancel my order now...I'll either buy it from another store or skip it.
 
i also found the extigy refurbished on ebay for the same price, should i do that instead?
 
get the audigy 2 nx over the extigy. much better drivers and performance. you'll also hear a nice difference between the on-board audio and the nx.
