I'm planning to build a Linux server, and also use it as an HTPC.

Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit

I'm going to be installing Linux Mandriva 2006 PowerPack on it, and I went ot creatives website to look for Linux drivers. There aren't any. Will Linux automatically detect it, or where can I get drivers?
 
Yeah, Linux will automagically detect it (most distro's should come with ALSA, if not, they should have OSS by default)...so no crappy Creative drivers needed. ;) Usually the sound is muted, so to configure your APU properly, open your favorite terminal and type:

Just don't buy an X-Fi (yet), apparently it's not supported under Linux, and I don't have an ETA on it either. :(
 
opensource.creative.com will tell you that newer versions of alsa have drivers for it. They do. Mandriva should detect and deal with the card automatically.
