Hey, I'm currently running a SoundBlaster Live Platinum (yes the original) and I was wondering what cables I need to get to run the sound into my stereo mixer, which is old as well and only has RCA inputs... Is there a way to convert whatever audio signal comes out of any port on the SBlive to RCA? Sorry for being a total noob, but I just don't know... Thanks for any help!
 
The 1/8" (3.5 mm) phone mini-jacks ("headphone jacks") can be fitted with stereo RCA adapters, available at most home audio stores or somewhere online like Parts Express (.com). The same applies for the larger 1/4" jacks, though you might need another adapter for that.

The coaxial and optical S/PDIF outputs are a lot tougher, though. To use those, you would need a DAC (digital to analog converter) device, which usually costs several hundred dollars. The DAC would then have the appropriate analog RCA outputs.

Your best bet, for straight stereo output, is probably the mini-jacks on the back of the PCI card.
